Attached is a photograph of Mike Ivess, the Statesmen fellow Founder and 1st Musical Director, directing the Statesmen about 2092-3 just before the chorus was judged as AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL SMALL CHORUS CHAMPION at the National Convention held in Canberra in 1995.

MELL-O-TONES 2002-2006
MELL-O-TONES 2002-2006
I had the good fortune of singing with David Edwards, Russ Thomas, and John Gynther for about 5 years, 2002-2006, in a quartet called the
MELL-O-TONES. The quartet competed in 3 BHA competitions and medalled 3 times. The attached is a photo of the quartet serenading our ladies after a grand dinner. Then we wandered around the restaurant serenading each table and the manager often shouted everybody the desert. Several managers wanted to book us regularly but this wasn't in our plans. Great memories with great friends!!
